We think software should earn its place in someone's day. A lot of what people use asks for more attention than it gives back. We would rather make a handful of things that people are genuinely glad to open.

That means saying no often. We cut features that only add noise, we ship when something is ready rather than when a calendar says so, and we watch closely how people use our work once it's in their hands.

Good tools have always worked this way. Nobody remembers a well-made pen, only the letter they wrote with it. We think software deserves the same humility: the less people notice it, the more room it leaves for what they actually came to do.
